Skore's Mattress Company was opened in Post Falls, Idaho on November 20, 2006 by owners Greg and Kathy Skore. Greg is the manager and his son Joseph is the store's assistant manager. Greg has been in various sales and training positions prior to opening of the mattress store. He was in the insurance business for over 20 years, most of which were with MetLife Insurance Company where he held the following positions: Account Rep, , Branch Administrator, Field Trainer, and Regional Manager for the states of Montana, Wyoming, North Dakota and South Dakota. Like most insurance companies MetLife downsized it's career agency and began to broker out most of its business to independent insurance dealers. At this time, 1995, Greg was offered a buy-out and decided to accept this and go into the furniture and bedding business. For the last 12 years Greg has worked for several furniture/bedding companies. During his time with these companies Greg became an assistant manager in charge of the bedding departments with Conlin's Furniture in Missoula, Montana. Greg was offered a position with Runge Furniture in Coeur d' Alene Idaho in 2003. He and wife Kathy re-located to the North Idaho area where they still live. For the past two years Greg has been investigating opening a bedding store in North Idaho. After exhaustive time and study on the demographics Greg put together a Business Plan and presented this to Mountain West Bank. The plan was approved in July 2006 and the rest is history. Greg had several choices of vendors to choose from, such as Spring Air, King Koil, Restonic, Englander, and Sealy Mattress Company. Through his many years of dealing with all the major bedding and mattress companies, Greg chose to be an "Exclusive Sealy Dealer" for several reasons. Sealy Mattress Company has always been Greg's favorite bed to sell because of the durability, comfort selections, and most importantly the fact Sealy Mattress Company is the number one selling mattress in the United States. Their research and development department is second to none and their quality and long lasting beds attest to this. Greg and Kathy invested a large portion of their life savings to find a suitable location and once this was accomplished to make it the finest bedding store in all of North Idaho. They invested over $20,000 of their own money remodeling and updating their location in Post Falls. At the same time ths mall they are located in (Hillstead Plaza Mall) was investing over $250,000 in improvements to the facia and are still planning more upgrades. The new mall was renamed to "Harbor Ridge Mall" and is a very beautiful mall. The Skore's business philosophy is to offer affordable and quality beddings to fit anyone's needs. They currently offer 28 comfort selections to choose from at all price points. They offer free delivery withing the North Idaho and Eastern Washington area. If the item is in stock they often times can offer same day delivery within these areas. If a bed must be ordered the wait is only one week, as opposed to 8 to 10 weeks for other furnitures special orders. Our beds are manufactured in Portland, Oregon and we receive a shipment every week. We offer a no pressure atmosphere and our well trained staff will assist you with any questions you may have. The competition usually charges a delivery fee unless you purchase up to a certain amount.
